The Weeknd will come to Detroit in January 22 for his first world tour

R&B and rap artist The Weeknd announced his first world tour which will commence from January 2022 onwards. The date is set for him to come the Michigan on 27th January at the Little Caesars Arena.

The Canadian singer and songwriter’s show tickets are set to go for sale from Monday 10 AM onwards.

Initially, the tour was supposed to commence from June 24, 2020 onwards. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the concert industry had to push the date forward. Previously purchased tickets will be valid for the newly announced date.

Since USA is in a critical condition right now with the vaccine, health officials have stated that concerts can begin from 2022 onwards. However, there has been no definite timeline that has been declared as of yet.

In March, The Weeknd released his fourth studio album, After Hours after a week during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. This album included to songs which hit number one on the billboard charts and has over 2 billion streams on Spotify. The album has even been overlooked by the Grammy Awards for major categories and The Weeknd was upset about how much he was snubbed by the Recording Academy. He took it to social media to express his views and was supported by fellow rap artist and singers in the game including Justin Beiber, Ariana Grande, Drake, Nicki Minaj and even a few producers and production houses.

This album broke multiple records including spending the most weeks in the top 10 Billboard Hot 100 chart and is still Number 3 on this week’s charts, 60 weeks after its release.

The venue for the event is The Little Caesars Arena which is a part of his 104 destination global tour which is start on January 14,2022 in Vancouver and wrap up on November 16th in London, England.
