A Chicago Fire Department spokesman said, On Tuesday Morning two workers were rescued from fallen scaffolding about 10 stories above Michigan Avenue.
Fire-fighters took out a window in the 530 block of North Michigan Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. to bring in the workers who were originally reported as "just hanging there," but it wasn't as direct as that when responders arrived.
They had protective harnesses that held them up, even if that were the case, it was likely terrifying. But they didn't have to do any high angled rescue; they were able to pull them in.
The scaffolding holding up the workers gave out in the area of Michigan and Grand avenues, leading to some street closures below as fire-fighters worked. Traffic delays mounted as a result, officials said.
The men seemed to be in good health once they were brought inside the building and they declined medical attention.
