Detroit Police and fire discovered an illegal second hand dealer operation. Second hand dealer operation means thieves steal goods from homes or other places and sell them to low lives, who shell out cash for these pilfered property.

This shady underground business was going on in 15000 block of Heyden, on the city’s west side. Some of the items uncovered were massive and extremely hazardous like Propane tanks, Kerosene containers, Freon canisters, hot water heaters, air conditioner units, furnaces and more.

The First respondents used large vehicles to remove these items. Investigators are planning to return these times to the rightful owners. This is going to be a time taking process as police say all of the transactions are made illegally, so there are no receipts or records.

“It appears to be stolen goods from floor to ceiling” says Rebecca Mckay.
