Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was sentenced to death in the Boston Marathon bombings, has now been moved to the most secure federal prison in the country, Supermax located in Colorado, US.

The convicted Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was earlier held in USP Florence, a separate prison in Florence.

In May, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was sentenced to death by a Federal Jury for being involved in the 2013 bombings at the marathon, which killed an eight year boy and two women besides injuring over 260 people.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons had to decide whether Tsarnaev should be placed in Supermax or death row at the penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana, till the end of the lengthy appeals process.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Supermax is the most secure federal prison of the nation. It is home to criminals such as Ramzi Yousef; “Unabomber” Ted Kaczynski; 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui; and the “shoe bomber” Richard Reid. Ramzi Yousef plotted the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center.
